American Gothic B is based on a journal entry by one of America's greatest founding fathers, Dr. G.J. Gonthromorph. A brief excerpt from his diary follows:

July 13, 1943

Still no sign of the elusive Americanized Blue Dreriox Beetle....My spirits are begining to sour and I am beginning to think that the accursed creature does not exist.

Later today in my searching, I stumbled into a wood that was unfamiliar. It did not appear on any of my maps so it greatly aroused my curiosity. I know only of its name but none of its history. A hand fashioned sign informed me I had entered "Insomniac Forest." A queer name indeed. This fueled my insatiable curiosity and lust for exploration. I paused a moment to record the latitude and longitude of the wood...
